DAWSON COLLEGE GRAPHIC DESIGN - PROGRAM BROCHURE
Dawson College’s graphic design program is a three-year technical program. It is the only graphic design program at the CEGEP level that is offered in Quebec in English.
PROJECT
The goal of the project was to design a brochure for the program that would be given to prospective students.
APPROACH + PROCESS
Visuals of open spaces, skies, and clouds were used to represent the freedom and possibility that education can bring. Text about the nature of storytelling and art was written to serve as a poetic aside. Care was taken to keep the main text of the document clear and organized. The sky visuals were cut and modified to reveal the next pages. A motif of circles was used to coincide with the soft, round forms of clouds.
OUTCOME
The resulting booklet mirrors my own experience at Dawson without disrupting the text; a large centrepiece artwork is displayed in the middle of the fifth and sixth semesters, as my final year of school was broken up over two years.
